Welcome to the Dublin Womens Soccer League Website, we cater for womens and girls football in the greater Dublin area and its surrounding counties.
Short History.
The Dublin Women’s Soccer League was founded in 1993 and is affiliated to the Womens Football Association of Ireland. Prior to this there were two leagues in the Dublin area catering for women’s and schoolgirl’s soccer. They were the Leinster Ladies League and the Civil Service League. These then amalgamated and became the Dublin Womens Soccer League who now cater for over 150 Womens and schoolgirls teams. There are about 2500 women and schoolgirls playing soccer in the greater Dublin area at present. This number is constantly growing.
How the League Works.
The summer league runs from May to September, while the Winter League runs from October to March, with a break for Christmas. The Summer League has 9 Divisions which include, Premier, Major and 7 Intermediate divisions, Players must have reached their 15th birthday to play Senior Football.
Underage.
Underage football is run at present by the Metropolitan Girls League under the auspices of the NDSL.
